Few people can cut to the heart of the matter quite like Stephen Colbert, host of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report.”

“The market has spoken. America loves the 3D,” Colbert proclaimed after a weekend in which “Clash of the Titans” in 3D topped the box offices.

Colbert added that the 3D movie’s commercial success isn’t a surprise since a 3D movie has been the top money-earner in 12 of the last 16 weekends.

He also points out that most of these movies aren’t exactly “The Godfather.” “This movie is truly revolutionary film-making,” he said about “Clash of the Titans. “They shot it in 2D but then converted it to 3D. The amazing part is the characters stayed 1D.”

Colbert said it was time for his show to jump on the 3D bandwagon. Watch the video - but be prepared to get nauseous and duck as he peppers you with Nerf machine gun bullets.
