Ho ho ho high-def fans! On the brink of the holiday shopping season, Target has announced its intentions to stuff your A/V cabinet, stockings and any other empty space with a few Blu-ray players. The word is that the retailer is dropping its player prices.

It seems the Olevia BD-110, which has us pondering about price yesterday, is one of those options. Supposedly, Target will have it for the $229 price. They also have the Philips BD-P7200 for $250, which is $100 less than the MSRP.

Home Media Magazine says that the move has a lot to do with the current credit crunch. People are also expected to have a lot less cash in hand this holiday season. Lowering the prices might sway shoppers to finally make the leap to Blu-ray, or at least share the high-def magic for the holidays.

Are you planning to buy a Blu-ray player this season? For you, or as a gift? Also, what price will entice you to buy? Sound off in the comments section below!
