This summer, Tannoy will be launching the Kingdom Royal, their new flagship loudspeaker.
It features all you’d expect from what Tannoy calls “the most revealing and musically articulate loudspeaker” they’ve ever built.
By the numbers, the Kingdom Royal has a claimed frequency response of 24 Hz to 54,000 Hz, -6 dB and an incredible sensitivity of 96 dB (at 2.83v at 1 meter).
Each Kingdom Royal weighs in at 265 pounds, and is about 50 inches tall.
On the top is a 1-inch ceramic coated magnesium SuperTweeter, with a “plasma bonded coil” and neodymium magnet motor.
The 12-inch woofer is a concentric design, with an aluminum alloy 3-inch dome mid/tweeter in the center. The latter has its own 3 pound magnet. The 15 inch woofer has a multi-fiber paper pulp cone.
The crossover wiring is extremely high purity copper and silver.
The Kingdom Royal will be available this summer, and is built at Tannoy’s factory in the UK.
