For all its greatness, football may just be the worst sport to watch live.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing quite like tailgating (for me, that equates to drinking beer, eating sausage and playing catch in a stadium parking lot at 10 am).
For all it’s smash-mouth greatness, football is a game of strategy and stats. To fully enjoy the game, you need analysis and most of all, replays (Yes, the DVR is going so I can review all questionable calls throughout the week). This is why I watch all games of utmost importance from my living room.
Not to mention, it’s damn cold for most of the season here in the Northeast. The parking lot also loses it luster when it’s packed with cars going 1 mph.
I realize that a trip to the Super Bowl is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for most. But for this fan, I’d gladly give my seat to someone else.
