There are many systems on the market that allow you to monitor the well-being of an aging loved one. However, there are few that support so many different channels of communication.

A wireless health monitoring system from Ideal Life integrates with many different channels of communication: cellular, landline phone and Internet. It’s compatible with communication brands including Apple products (including iPads), AT&T, Cricket, Google, HTC, LG, Nokia, Motorola, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon and Virgin Mobile.

The connectivity is made possible via Ideal Life’s mobile applications and cellular-based gateway, the Ideal Life Mobile Pod.

The device gathers data from medical devices including a glucometer, body weight scale, and blood pressure reader. The devices transmit their readings wirelessly to the Mobile Pod, which can then sent the data out to computers, cell phones, and other mobile devices.

The Mobile Pod also supports two-way communication, so caregivers can send reminders to the patient’s device, and the patient can respond. For wellness-related devices, like pedometers, user can connect with their friends and family via social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.
