The first six ‘Star Trek’ motion pictures will arrive on Blu-ray soon.
Trekkies who are fans of the feature-length “Star Trek” films can mark May 12 on their calendars.
Even if you don’t have a crazy shrine Star Trek home theater to fully sink into the experience, you can have a Blu-ray marathon when “Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture Collection” arrives on the format that day from Paramount.
The collection will carry an MSRP of $104.99, High-Def Digest says, and will include the first six “Star Trek” films:
The box set will also have a seventh bonus disc, “Star Trek: The Captain’s Summit,” which will feature a roundtable discussion led by Whoopi Goldberg that engages William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes.
The actual movies will be on 50-GB discs with 1080p video and remixed 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtracks, plus a slew of bonus content. If you only want to pay about half, you’ll be able to grab the “Genesis Arc” focused editions in the series—films II, III and IV—on May 12 for $48.99.
