Staples Offering Trade-Up UPS Recycling
For a limited time, Staples is waiving the recycling fee on your tired uninterruptible power supply and giving you another $20 towards the purchase of a new model.

It seems that everyone’s offering e-cycling these days. You can bring electronics not-so-goodies to some Best Buy locations for free and some unbroken compact fluorescent lamps to The Home Depot for free.

So why would you want to bring an old uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to a Staples location starting this month—and possibly pay a recycling fee of $10?

Because APC and Staples are launching the “Trade In, Trade Up” promotion.  When a customer brings any UPS system (3000 kVA and under), regardless of manufacturer, into Staples for recycling from July 27 through August 31, 2008, APC and Staples will waive the $10 recycling fee and give you an instant $20 rebate towards the purchase of a new APC Back-UPSover $99.99 from Staples.

...Oh and I just realized it reads July 27th - August 31st… While it’s still nice to know, I’ll have forgotten this news and bought a new UPS by then :P

I wonder if this is a ONE per new purchase deal, likely. My boss has offered me 2 “dead” ups’ and it would be great to get $40 of a new ups.
