Staples MailMate Junks Junk Mail
Radius and Staples work together to take this compact shredder beyond the home office.

I’m not sure if I was subconsciously sold through its recent appearance on “The Office” or if I consider it a necessity, but the MailMate is on my Christmas wishlist.

See, I get an obscene amount of junk mail, and it’s a little obsession that I have to make sure every piece ends up in many tiny pieces. Call it OCD, revenge, or identity theft protection. It’s something I must do, and I’m not stopping myself now.

Radius Product Development designed this little gadget for part of the Staples line. The end result: Instead of letting mail stack up and withstanding tons of paper cuts on a weekly basis, the MailMate is like the Ginsu knife of shredders. This handy desktop device can crunch 10 folded paper sheets, CDs/DVDs, credit cards, staples and small paper clips.

It might be time to pack up your blender until the next Margarita season; this unit is compact enough to put right on the kitchen counter.

The MailMate is available now, exclusively through Staples.

  • $69.99 ($20 rebate expires 12/30/06)
  • Available at Staples
  • Pull-out bin
  • Powers down after 30 minutes

Hi there,
that certainly seems to be one handy machine and i can empathize with your needs to take revenge.i too have been getting a lot of spam mail, magazines that i never asked for,  credit card applications and the whole show.
As far as sensitive documentation is concerned it is always better to shred them through the top of the line shredders, so as to be safe and to make sure that the documents stay that way.
