If you’ve been biding your time for cheap EV-DO access, today could be your lucky day.
Twice says that Sprint just announced two new phones. One of them is the super-low priced Samsung Rant, which clocks in at just under $50. This is about 30 bucks less than the last cheap EV-DO effort.
EV-DO stands for Evolution-Data Optimized, and is basically what allows Sprint to deliver high-speed web access to your tiny cell phone.
The Rant is a slider, which exposes a full QWERTY keyboard. Other features include a 2-megapixel camera, 4x digital zoom, and Sprint’s One Click customizable user interface.
Sprint also announced Samsung’s new Highnote, a phone for music lovers. When this one slides, it reveals speakers and a dial pad. That is priced at $99.99.
Both units are available now. The cheap prices come with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
