Speakal, the same people responsible for the iPig and the iPom, are bringing us a slightly more normal looking iPod dock—at least normal for them.
The design for the newly announced iKurv Docking Station was inspired by a starship (not the band). The docking station does have a space-age look, and it even throws in special effects via a nice spacey glow.
Featuring a built-in digital amplifier that promises 20 watts of sound and frequencies ranging from 90Hz-20KHz, the iKurv is compatible with all iPhones and iPods. When docked, it can charge up those units as well as play back stored audio. If you don’t have one of those portables, it can also connect to pretty much any other music source, including a TV or gaming console.
If you aren’t digging the glow effects, they can be turned off or tuned down via four levels of brightness and the included remote.
Available in black, the iKurv is currently selling for $79.99 (it typically goes for $89.99). Speakal is also planning to release the iKurv in other colors, including pink, blue, white, yellow and green. However, there’s no word on when those models will enter our galaxy.
