Now you can have your entire music library and an audio system to play it on with you at any time. Store your iPod or other MP3 player in one pocket, and save the other pocket for soundmatters’ new foxL.

Soundmatters’ foxy little foxL device is a mere 5.6 x 2.2 x 1.4 inches, but you can crank it with a full-range output that produces 80 Hz to 20 kHz, the company says, and it’s going so far as to define it as “audiophile” quality.

That’s courtesy of the company’s patented FlatMagic bass radiator design for the small device that presents bass extension of the two 1-inch linear magnetic drive “twoofers” tuned to 100 Hz. The twoofers also feature field-focused, back-to-back dual Extreme-Energy neodymium magnets and bifilar 1-inch voice coils. Sounds like the little foxL devices is about to burst at the seams.

It also comes in two flavors—with Bluetooth connectivity and without it. If you get the Bluetooth variety, you can stream your music wirelessly from compatible devices, or even use it for hands-free phone conversations. If you don’t have Bluetooth, the foxL package also includes a 3.5mm stereo audio cable, plus AC adapter and USB power cable.

Look for the foxL starting on September 1. The Bluetooth-capable model will retail for $249, with $199 for non-Bluetooth.
