If you love headphones but hate the wires, Sony’s new DR-BT50’s may be the cans for you. Weighing in at 180 grams you’ll know they’re on, but given the frequency range (20-20,000Hz) I’d say it’s worth it. And since they’re using Bluetooth instead of the more traditional IR or RF, you can control your Beethoven from the built-in remote. The DR-BT50’s have an airtime of about 17 hours per charge, a standby of 200 hours, and will be available in April. Price: $230.
Also available is a lighter neck-style pair of headphones, the DR-BT21G, sporting similar specs. No word on pricing but they will be offered in black or white models.
The woven acoustic screen is now available in a retractable, masking version.
