When Sony first launched the PlayStation Portable last year, it was supposed to revolutionize mobile entertainment. I’m guessing that Sony was expecting that revolution to have a lot more explosions…
Part of the problem with the PSP was that the software was expensive. This is something we entertainment junkies are familiar with, considering the current price of games, DVDs and now, high-def DVDs. However, now I’m expected to buy the first season of “Sanford and Son” on DVD—and UMD for my PSP? My buck stops right there.
Many local video stores don’t rent the games or the movies, making it sort of a hard(er) sell. Over a year later, it looks like Sony might raise a little added interest in the PSP, thanks to a new download service at the PlayStation Store.
There are only five “classic” titles available right now, but you’ve got to start somewhere. “Crash Bandicoot,” “Syphon Filter,” “Cool Borders,” “Hot Shots Golf 2 and “Tekken 2” are $5.99 each.
To further frustrate rabid PSP users, the only way you can download the titles is via the PlayStation 3. In other words, you’ll have to make quite a financial investment to use the service.
Additional titles are supposed to be available for download this month. For all of the effort, hopefully they will throw a few movie titles into the mix.

Sadly, you have to get the PS3. That is (currently) the only way to access the store as far as I know. They should really change that!
so do i have to get a ps3 to download games. Or do i have to pay a large fee or a member or something like that.
