There will soon be less of a decision-making process for the PlayStation—at least overseas. Sony just announced that it would soon stop selling its 20GB and 60GB PS3 models in Japan.
So it looks like the middle-of-the-road 40GB must have gotten the popular vote; this is where the company is shifting its focus. The 40GB has less parts, making it cheaper to make.
However, Reuters says that new models may be coming soon.
Sony will stop shipping the 20GB and 60GB models at the end of the month.
