Sony made a boatload of announcements today. One that really caught our eye is that the Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) TV is now available in the U.S. After 10 years of development, it’s about time.

The 11-inch XEL-1 is 3mm thin and boasts a contrast ratio of over 1,000,000:1. Is that possible? Supposedly the technology prevents light emission when showing off blacks, making them well… really black.

Other features include a Memory Stick slot, two HDMI inputs and DMeX support, so you can stream web video for free.

Right now, the XEL-1 is only available at Sony Style stores for $2,500.
