Sony Adds Web Access to Cyber-Shot
The new Cyber-shot DSC-G3 allows users to upload memories as they're made.
January 08, 2009 | by Rachel Cericola

Next time you’re bored at a family gathering, you can whip out Sony’s Cyber-Shot G3. While the clan is saying, “cheese,” you can actually be surfing the web—right on the camera.

Actually, the unit has built-in Wi-Fi so you can share those family or freakish moments instantly. Just as long as you can tap into a hotspot, you can share photos and video clips as soon as you capture them. The camera automatically connects to the Sony Easy Upload Home Page, which has direct links to Shutterfly, Picasa, YouTube, Dailymotion and Photobucket.

“Research shows that our customers greatly value sharing images and video clips, but they often forget or don’t have enough time if they wait to get home to upload images,” said Phil Lubell, Sony’s director of digital camera marketing. “Our new Cyber-shot DSC-G3 camera provides the simplicity and convenience of sharing in the moment, while the impulse is still fresh in people’s minds.”

The 10-megapixel camera also features a 3.5-inch LCD screen, 4GB of internal memtory, a 4X optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, Intelligent Scene Recognition, Face Detection and Smile Shutter features, and DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) support.

Buy the DSC-G3, and you can tap into free AT&T Wi-Fi until Jan. 31, 2012. It’s available now for $500.
