For Sonus faber, it will be tough to top the gorgeous-looking and gorgeous-sounding Elipsa model that was added to its Cremona collection last year—we liked it so much it was one of our Products of the Year. This year, Sonus faber is giving us a beautiful bookshelf speaker with the Elipsa name, called the Cremona Auditor Elipsa.
From the looks of it, the Auditor Elipsa is a pared-down version of the floorstanding model in appearance, and we’d assume it will offer the same sonic prowess.
The audio is delivered through a 6-inch woofer and 25-mm radiating tweeter ring, with frequency response ranging from 55 Hz to 30,000 Hz.
Finishing is available in natural maple or light graphite, so you can use these on their own or complement your Elipsas by adding the Auditors and a Cremona Center and Cremona Sub for a full-throttle surround setup that will put you in the center of an everyday symphony.
While the Elipsas are $20K per pair, the bookshelf Auditor Elipsas will run you about $5,300 per pair.
