The above headline is not a sales pitch; it’s a sweepstakes. Smarthome just announced plans to give away $500 in Insteon products every month, to subscribers of its email newsletter.

All you need to do is sign up for the Smarthome email newsletter, and you’ll be entered into the monthly drawing. One person will win each month.

There’s no word on how long the online retailer plans to keep giving away the goods. However, even if you don’t win, you’ll still get the newsletter, which includes all kinds of deals, product previews and how-to tips.

“We are very excited to be offering enthusiasts an opportunity to win free Insteon products,” says Laurie Maroni, Smarthome’s VP of marketing. “Insteon is the most reliable home control and automation technology on the market, so this is an exciting offer for those customers who have been interested in home automation, but have never owned any products.”

Smarthome will select monthly winners at random during the first week of each month.
