Don’t leave security up to the family dog. Installing a security system doesn’t have to be a scary process. It also doesn’t have to be a messy one. Smarthome has just launched SecureLinc 2, a new wireless security system that’s pretty slick—and easy to install.

Modeled after the original SecureLinc system, the sequel is an all-in-one wireless system that allows homeowners to view and control their homes from any web browser or web-enabled cell phone.

Aside from flexible access, the SecureLinc 2 offers flexibility when it comes to the installation process. That perk is due to the built-in PSTN communicator and X10 home control interface, as well as the ability to add internal GSM/GPRS or Broadband IP communications modules.

The SecureLinc 2 can be purchased as two different kits. Both contain a console, a door/window transmitter, two proximity sensors, a keyfob and a wireless motion sensor. The advanced kit adds in GSM communication capability, which throws in use of cellular technology.

Both SecureLinc 2 kits are now available, at an MSRP of $399.99 to $599.99.
