Sling Media is still going strong. The subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation (the DISH Network people) just announced that its SlingPlayer technology is now available for your Android tablet needs.

The SlingPlayer app is now available for those with $29.99, an Android tablet running versions 3.0 or later, and a need for live TV almost anywhere. The version that the company is selling for Android phones is free. However, it doesn’t have the same high resolution that this version is promising.

Whether you want that kind of quality on vacation or on the deck, you’re still going to need the Slingbox SOLO or PRO-HD at your home base. With all of those pieces in place, you can use the SlingPlayer app to flip channels, watch live and recorded TV on the go, and program your DVR.

Sling says that this latest release includes a revamped program guide, as well as on-screen remote controls that can mimic your at-home experience.

The SlingPlayer app is available now via the Android Market.
