Niveus Media, one of the original developers of Windows Media Center systems for custom integration, has added Sirius XM satellite radio to its content offerings.

To be sure, you can access Sirius XM via other Media Center interfaces, but none looks quite like this one.

Niveus is well known for taking traditional services – like home control, movie management and multizone content distribution – and wrapping them into a seamless Media Center interface.

“You’ll notice it looks a lot like our Niveus Movie Library,” says Niveus CEO Tim Cutting. “Like our other apps, it’s exclusively for the Niveus Media Center but works with all of our systems, including the [entry-level] Zone.”

Cutting adds that the Sirius app was the “one glaring missing piece from our entertainment solution.”

Niveus worked closely with Sirius to ensure customers would have the same experience with Internet radio as they currently enjoy with other Niveus apps.

The Niveus Sirius XM solution is a plug-in for Windows 7 Media Center. Users can navigate through satellite radio logos in high def via Niveus servers, and even save their favorite channels.

Existing Sirius subscribers can add an Internet radio subscription for $2.99 per month; otherwise, a subscription to Sirius Internet radio costs $12.95 per month.
