When it comes to SIM2’s projectors, they can stake claim to a pretty impressive crop. Now they are giving one of those beasts a little buddy.
The Grand Cinema HT3000 HOST pairs a compact (17 inches square) projector with an outboard video input processor.
HOST’s 10-bit video processor features six HDMI 1.3 inputs, as well as ones for component, composite, RGB and S-Video. The projector combines TI’s 0.95-inch DLP DMD chip and SIM2’s own ALPHAPATH light engine to deliver a crisp 1080p image.
The two pieces hook together via a small diameter fiber-optic cable to make one mighty media presentation. Also, thanks to SIM’s three-line optical-digital High-Definition Optical Signal Transfer (H.O.S.T.) system, the two units can hook over distances up to 750 feet.
SIM2’s HT3000 HOST is now shipping with a T1 lens for $21,595; the T2 lens will cost you an extra $1,000.
