Sharp Designs New 1080p LCD with Gamers in Mind
This new 32-inch AQUOS is built for a gamer's need for speed -- and a great picture.
December 06, 2007 | by Rachel Cericola

Sure Wiis, PS3s and Xboxs are flying off shelves for the holiday season, but you can’t just look at the pretty console, right? Sharp wants to get in on the action, releasing a new line of 32-inch AQUOS LCDs for the gamer on your gimme list.

The 32-inch (LC-32GP3U) AQUOS LCD is designed specifically with gamers in mind—geeky ones that want the full high-def 1080p experience. The company says that this new unit handles every frame rate under the sun, means you should be able to feel the crowd cheer, that blow to the head, or the rumble of any racecar.

Sure you can watch movies on it, but gamers will appreciate little touches like the Vyper Drive feature, which boasts reduced lag time between the game console input and the TV display to imperceptible levels.  Other highlights include a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a Game Mode button on the remote as well as a subwoofer audio output.

Another nifty feature is that the slim set sits atop a swivel stand (say that three times fast), which means you can grab a snack, pillow or quick scratch, without missing a minute of the action.

This new 32-inch AQUOS is available in three shiny colors: black, a wine red and white; each is available this month for $1,600.
