You know those combo TV and DVD players? Get ready for the next generation—the LCD and Blu-ray recorder!
We’re relying on Akihabara News to do the translating of Sharp’s Japanese press release, but it seems the company has announced the Aquos DX Series comprising 16 new TVs that range from 26 to 52 inches, with built-in Blu-ray recorders that look to be in the upper right corner of the bezel.
The Sharp Digital W Tuner allows for watching TV while you record it onto your Blu-ray.
The 52-, 46- and 42-inch models are full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, with contrast of 2,000:1, viewing angle of 176 degrees, 450 cd/m2 brightness, and two HDMI ports.
You can grab the 52- or 46-inchers in black or white colors, while a groovy red option will be available for the 37-, 32- and 26-inch sets.
The 37-inch DX models are also 1080p, while the resolution dips to 1366 x 768 for the two smaller models. Pricing ranges from 1,200 to 3,600 Euros ($1,628 to $4,885 at the current exchange rate), with no word on availability. But you can always start stocking up on those blank BD-RE 2.1 and BD-R 1.1 recordable Blu-ray discs now.
