Savant Systems LLC, the company best known for its Apple-based home automation systems, is adding a little something to its lineup—a whole new company. Savant has aquired LiteTouch, Inc.

You may have heard of LiteTouch, since the company manufacturers both residential and commercial lighting systems. They’ve also been around since the 1970s. Savant is hoping that its new purchase will add some lighting cred to the company’s current offerings.

“The acquisition of LiteTouch brings to Savant a comprehensive lighting control system including a broad range of aesthetically pleasing keypad solutions from a respected and recognized supplier,” explained Savant CEO Robert Madonna.

Madonna says that many Savant dealers have been asking for lighting and integrated keypad products. Under Savant, the LiteTouch keypads will support a wide array of controlled devices including third-party lighting systems.

Savant plans to keep its new lighting control group in the Salt Lake City area, where LiteTouch has been operating.

“LiteTouch is proud to join the Savant Family,” said Angie Larson, LiteTouch’s VP of sales and marketing. “Savant’s acquisition of LiteTouch creates unique opportunities for industry innovation, design collaboration and product development.”
