It’s not exactly Rosie from “The Jetsons,” but Sanyo’s Mirai Sanzo is putting homes a little further under robot rule—homes in Japan, anyway.
According to Tech Crunch, the little orb (22cm diameter) can control a variety of smart home aspects, using an unspecified version of Android. It has a touchscreen, touch sensors, voice recognition and Wi-Fi support.
It’s also cute, and kind of emotional. The Mirai Sanzo can actually express himself in seven different colors. It’s ok if he wants to vent a little in between controlling temperature, drawing you a bath, and triggering fire alarms.
According to the product announcement, Sanyo Homes is now selling the Mirai Sanzo in Japan.

One is a subsidiary of DTS, with the other looking to gain traction via Indiegogo.
