It’s not exactly Rosie from “The Jetsons,” but Sanyo’s Mirai Sanzo is putting homes a little further under robot rule—homes in Japan, anyway.
According to Tech Crunch, the little orb (22cm diameter) can control a variety of smart home aspects, using an unspecified version of Android. It has a touchscreen, touch sensors, voice recognition and Wi-Fi support.
It’s also cute, and kind of emotional. The Mirai Sanzo can actually express himself in seven different colors. It’s ok if he wants to vent a little in between controlling temperature, drawing you a bath, and triggering fire alarms.
According to the product announcement, Sanyo Homes is now selling the Mirai Sanzo in Japan.

The new LIFX bulbs will over color control, similar the the Philips Hue lights, but with extra goodies like notifications.
Acoustic panels double as French Quarter street scenes in this beautiful room.
