Series 7, Series 6 LCDs
The Series 7 and Series 6 LCDs both have CCFL backlighting. The Series 7 comes in 40-, 46-, and 52-inch models, while the Series 6 features 19-, 22-, 32-, 37-, 40-, 46- and 55-inch models.

The Series 7 LCDs offer 240HZ refresh rate and Motion Plus technology. They also have ToC design, a transparent bar across the bottom bezel to separate the TV from the speakers and access to the Yahoo! Widget Engine.

It also has built-in wired Ethernet, supports 802.11a/b/g/n wireless networking via a wireless USB dongle and is DLNA certified.

The Series 6 LCDs offer 120Hz refresh rates, Auto Motion Plus technology and a ToC design with transparent colors on the TV’s four edges.

Series 6 LCDs 40-inch and bigger support the Yahoo! Widget Engine and have a wireless dongle that makes the Series 6 wireless DLNA compliant.

Series 7 and 6 will be available in the first half of 2009.

Series 8, Series 6 Plasmas
Series 8 plasmas, with a depth of just more than one inch, are the slimmest 1080p plasmas to have a built-in ATSC tuner, according to Samsung.

Series 8 HDTVs have a chrome-like translucent surface, while the Series 6 have a semi-transparent rose black hue in the frame and curved, transparent edges.

Both series of plasmas, which meet Energy Star 3.0 standards, are equipped with the Yahoo! Widget Engine and are wireless DLNA compliant.

Other features:

  • USB 2.0 port
  • Codec support for 3GPP, MKV, WMV9 and DivX
