Samsung Tops Consumer Brand Loyalty Study
Samsung is the big winner among a study of 26,000 consumers in terms of brand loyalty when choosing plasmas, LCDs and DVD players.

According to the annual Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Engagement Index (CLEI) that tracks 441 brands in 62 categories, Samsung ranks first in several key consumer electronics categories.

Here are the rankings for computer and electronic brands:

5. Hitachi/JVC/Toshiba
6. RCA

Plasma
1. Samsung
2. Panasonic
3. Pioneer
4. Toshiba

Robert Passikoff, Brand Keys founder and president, says the category drivers for consumers are product attributes and value. He says consumers want “50 percent off, cool design and bulletproof warranties.”

So..what’s up with the LG/Sony under the plasma list? Either there is some merger between the two companies that I’m not aware of….or the people taking the survey aren’t aware that Sony left the plasma business a couple years ago.
