SmartThings is growing — and now even more people can enjoy some of that growth.
The company recently announced a SmartThings app for Windows Phone users. It’s available as a free download in the Windows Phone Store.
Windows, iOS and Android users can all pair the app with the SmartThings Hub or one of the SmartThings Starter Kits. Some of the options that can be connected to a SmartThings setup include sensors, locks, light switches, outlets, and much more.
“In the growing smart home market, we believe that openness is a winning strategy because it puts the consumer, and not technology, first,” said the company’s blog post. “At SmartThings, this means creating app experiences for all the major mobile operating systems and giving customers the power to easily sync connected devices across several wireless protocols.”
The iOS, Android and Windows Phone versions of the SmartThings app are all available now.
Back in July, Samsung announced plans to buy SmartThings for $200 million.
