The ottoman was always the afterthought when it came to seating. Sure, we love putting our tootsies up as much as the next lazy person, but sometimes space and funds left that perfectly matching piece standing solo on the furniture showfloor.
Salamander Designs (via Home Toys) wants to make their ottomans a necessity. The new Jump Seat Ottoman unfolds to expose an extra seat. The company says it’s great for gaming; we think it’s a nice change to not have to sit on the floor when more than one person comes over. When folded out, the seat measures a hearty 21.5 inches wide by 14.5 inches deep. The back is 22 inches high. There’s even a cupholder and compartment for gaming controllers, remote or whatever else you need for an extended evening on the ottoman.
Another new product, the Storage Ottoman, is well, self-explanatory, don’t you think? There are details though: The storage space measures 24.5 inches wide by 20.5 inches deep by 7.25 inches high.
Both offer cushy, elegant designs, while turning that matching furniture into a multitasking duo. Each one is available in 14 leathers of 10 Microsuedes. The Jump Seat Ottoman and Storage Ottoman will be available in this spring 2008 from authorized dealers.
