You could prop AV equipment on top of an old table, but you should really give it the showcase that it truly deserves. Salamander Designs could actually upstage some of that AV with the latest additions to its Chameleon Collection furniture line.
The new members of the Chameleon Collection include corner-style (pictured right) and extra-wide cabinets (see below). Besides being a spot to rest your drinks (use a coaster!), these pieces feature the space for today’s AV components and larger HDTVs.
Three new corner-style configurations include a 20-inch high version, a 30-inch high version and a 30-inch high version with grillwork for a center-channel speaker. A total of nine different cabinet styles will also be available.
“No longer are users limited to ill-designed cabinets for smaller spaces,” said Sal Carrabba, Salamander’s president. “Our corner-style cabinets will support a flat-panel TV on top while integrating the A/V electronics neatly inside.”
As far as the Quad-style cabinets are concerned, each one is designed to accommodate today’s large flat-panel TVs, both visually and structurally. Featuring four doors, the new offering will include options for contemporary and transitional styles.
Salamander says that it engineers its cabinets for proper acoustics, vibration reduction, ventilation, remote-friendly doors, and cable management. Assembled entirely in the USA, each of the company’s AV cabinets is available in different styles, materials and configurations.
