Back in January, Russound introduced the world to the BSK-1 Bluetooth Source Kit. The small box works with any and all Bluetooth devices, promising to stream that content to any multiroom audio system—regardless of brand.
Today, Russound says that the BSK-1 is shipping to both residential and commercial audiences.
The BSK-1 comes with a Bluetooth transceiver and separate audio interface receiver, which has built-in active balanced line drivers. Those two pieces can be placed up to 300 feet apart. The in-room range, however, is up to 100 feet in line-of-sight applications.
Russound says that the BSK-1 uses a single Cat5 cable connection to the receiver. This makes it easy to place, or even hide inside a standard electrical junction box. It also has a 12-volt trigger input and output, for control of audio and video equipment.
