If you think that 3D TVs are expensive, you’d better shield your eyes from Runco‘s latest projectors. The high-end, high-performance manufacturer never releases anything on the cheap, and the SC-50d and SC-60d are certainly no different in terms of price and, we’re expecting, performance.

One thing that is slightly different is that both of these new Signature Cinema projectors are ready to do 3D. Both of the products support Active3D via active shutter glasses or passive-glassed-based solutions. According to the announcement, additional 3D capabilities should be coming soon—and I am dying to know exactly what those would be.

Each unit features a 1080p HD native resolution 3-chip system, two UHP lamps, and Runco’s own CineWide with AutoScope technology.

Other highlights include Runco’s Smart Lens system, a Digital High-Definition (DHD) external video processor controller, and ViVix processing.

Perfect for 2D and 3D content, each Signature Cinema Series projector is custom built to suit the exact requirements specified for every discerning video enthusiast client. So you KNOW that’s not cheap.

Expect the Signature Cinema SC-50d and SC-60d to be available this fall for $88,995 and $98,995, respectively. Optional lens, CineWide, CineWide with AutoScope, and 3D accessories will cost you extra.
