RTI is kicking off the fall with a new controller/processor combo. The company says that it is now shipping the T2-Cs+ handheld remote controller and the advanced XP-3 central control processor.
Featuring a dual-RF platform, the T2-Cs+ supports both 433-MHz RF for one-way control and 2.4-GHz ZigBee for bi-directional communication with RTI processors and third-party components, such as music servers, lighting, and even web-based RSS feeds.
This controller is the next link in the RTI chain, following the company’s popular T2-Cs handheld. Designed to control even the most complex AV system, the T2-Cs+ has a 2.4-inch LCD touchscreen, 128MB of flash memory and a 532-MHz CPU.
The XP-3 (pictured below) is a powerful processor that works a bit more behind the scenes, packing in an astronomical time clock and built-in ZigBee RF transceiver. Besides a 533MHz CPU and 128 MB of non-volatile Flash memory, the XP-3 also has a built-in RF transceiver and support for wireless bi-directional communications via ZigBee. This allows the XP-3 to provide real-time feedback from third-party devices, such as the ones mentioned above.
RTI is shipping the T2-Cs+ and XP-3 now for $699 and $499, respectively. The company plans to have both products on display at next month’s CEDIA EXPO in Indianapolis, Ind.
