RTI keeps coming up with new ways to control things. The latest in their line is the RKM-1 multiroom audio keypad and the MRP-64 multiroom control processor.
The MRP-64 ($699) acts as the interface between multizone A/V receivers and the company’s in-wall or handheld controllers. It can expand your system aplenty via six keypad ports, four independent IR output ports, three voltage trigger outputs, three voltage sense inputs and an IR signal input. Is that enough for you? Just in case, they’ve also thrown in an Ethernet port, RS-232 and ZigBee support.
Designed for flush-mount installations in walls or cabinets, the RKM-1 keypad ($149 each) looks neat enough. Each one allows for decent access to your A/V equipment (up to 1,000 feet away) via eight hard buttons.
Expect the MRP-64 and the RMK-1 to be available towards to beginning of 2008.
