We designed the RSL Speedwoofer™ 10 with a ‘no expense spared’ approach to be one of the best subwoofers available at any price. Compression Guide™ Technology allows it to reproduce incredibly deep bass with the speed and accuracy missing in most subwoofers. The first job of a subwoofer is to reproduce the lowest bass frequencies and to do it from a reasonably compact-sized enclosure. While some achieve this, most of them do so at the expense of clarity, masking the sounds they are supposed reproduce. They have a sound of their own and they intrude. You’re always reminded that there is a subwoofer present. Bass, whether in a movie soundtrack or music should not sound like it is coming from a subwoofer. Instead, it should sound as if it is coming from your smaller satellite speakers. And of course, it should be powerful.
The reason most subwoofers intrude is that they are too slow and do not respond as quickly as the smaller full range speakers they are supposed to blend with in a home theater or stereo system. This gap in speed is the reason why subwoofers don’t sound like they belong with the rest of the system. Wait till you hear and feel the bass of the RSL Speedwoofer 10!
Compression Guide Technology helps to make the RSL Speedwoofer 10 an “intrusion-less” subwoofer. Besides blending perfectly with the other speakers, it delivers bass with power and speed, that for many people, is a new experience. It deserves a place in an ultimate home theater or audiophile quality stereo system.
If you’ve ever been to a concert and thought that you’d like to have that same impact and quality of bass in your home, we invite you to experience the incredible bass of the RSL Speedwoofer 10. If you’ve been to a movie theater and felt the bass in the pit of your stomach, the RSL Speedwoofer 10 will be a pleasant surprise for you.
There is no trick to building a subwoofer that offers deep bass from a relatively small box. The method virtually all manufacturers use is to employ a woofer with a very heavy speaker cone. The problem is that a heavy cone has difficulty overcoming inertia to both start and stop. The result of this is deep bass that is sloppy, boomy, and ill-defined.
