Roxio’s Easy VHS to DVD kit includes hardware and software to transfer VHS to DVD.
It’s the holiday season, which means it’s time to bust out old home movies. However, you probably don’t want to drag out that old VCR as well.
Roxio has just announced a way to transfer old VHS to DVD. It’s not a new concept, but it’s certainly a super-easy one. The Roxio Easy VHS to DVD is a combination of hardware and software to get the job done.
Just attach the dongle: one end goes into your computer’s USB port, the other goes into any analog video or audio source. That means the kit can also be used to transfer LPs and cassettes. The software portion of the program allows you to make chapters, titles and even add effects on video—or create playlists and tracks for albums.
It looks like you’re stuck with the VCR for one more season; the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD won’t be available until next month. It will retail for $60.
