It looks like one request we have for ReQuest is already being fulfilled. The company just announced that they are adding the Intelligent Media Client, which will stream online content and DVD movies for owners of ReQuest iQ and F-Series media servers.

ReQuest says that the IMC creates an “expandable media platform” for music, videos, photos, “information widgets,” and online content like YouTube.

Load a DVD into the slot for local playback, as well as the ability to archive movies on the system’s iQ or F-Series media server. Once it’s in the system, it’s available on-demand from your media server’s library—from anywhere in the house. Of course, all of that content is upscaled to 1080p as well.

No word from ReQuest on whether or not the IMC supports Blu-ray titles, which probably means no.

Boasting an easy setup, the unit only needs a standard Ethernet Cat5 connection to your home network, and a quickie configuration. The IMC will be available in October for $2,495.
