Media streamers offer a compact way to add a ton of entertainment into your AV setup. However, with the introduction of the streaming stick, that option has actually gotten even smaller—in size and price.
Now, Walmart’s VUDU service is looking to compete with the Chromecast, Amazon Fire Stick, Roku Streaming Stick and every other dongle. The company is making the VUDU Spark available for a mere $25.
Like other dongles, the VUDU Spark plugs into one of your TV’s available HDMI ports and uses a USB cable for power. You also need to hook the Spark to your WiFi network. Once connected, it will pull up your VUDU account (which is free, if you don’t already have one). From there, you can buy or rent 100,000 different movies and TV shows. Titles start at a very affordable 99 cents.
It’s not just about quantity, but the quality is here as well. The VUDU Spark can support up to 1080p, 16:9 anamorphic video, as well as up to 7.1 digital surround.
The VUDU Spark is selling now, priced at $25. Also, for a limited time, when you purchase and activate a new VUDU Spark, you’ll get a $5 VUDU credit code emailed every month for the next five months—so it’s like getting the Spark for free!
