Rock-Ola’s Jukeboxes Rock Around the Clock
Consumers can browse, store, queue up and select songs, as well as compile them into playlists, through a touchscreen on Rock-Ola's Nostalgic Music Center.
May 30, 2007 | by Arlen Schweiger

Fonzie might have a tough time getting this jukebox kick-started, but he’d sure love using the touchscreen.

California-based Rock Ola’s Nostalgic Music Center jukeboxes can store up to 2,800 CDs, which can be browsed, sorted, queued up and selected for play via the built-in 15-inch touchscreen powered by technology from Qsonix. When a CD is loaded, the QB-8 automatically downloads the cover art and track titles free.

The graphical user interface (GUI) puts all the unit’s features at the user’s fingertips, allowing the library to be sorted by artist, album, genre, year or keyword. Tracks can be assembled into playlists by simply dragging and dropping. Users can double-tap any title at any time for a 7-second preview of a song. Graphic equalizer, security features and compression options can be managed with Qsonix’s drag-and-drop software platform as well.

The Nostalgic Music Center is powered by a 360-watt digital amplifier and integrated 5-speaker system for outsanding fidelity, the company says.

There are four models to choose from: Bubbler (QB-8), Peacock (QB-6), Gazelle (QB-4), and Harley-Davidson (QB-4HD). All models are available through Rock-Ola dealers worldwide, the company says, with MSRPs beginning at $7,295.
