Running around to open and close the shades is a daily chore that the Electronic House does not need. Adding control into the mix doesn’t always require entirely new equipment. It could just be something as simple as the Qsync.
Qsync is a new little device from QMotion Advanced Shading Systems. It’s designed to make the company’s shades smarter than ever before. Once installed, users can adjust shading from any iOS tablet or smartphone, via the QMotion app.
Just plug the Qsync device into the network and it will send commands just like any standard transmitter. The app’s user interface can then be set up to use pictures and/or names to identify windows, groups or zones. The app also allows users to create groups so that one command can control several items. According to QMotion, the Qsync can actually control over 450 individual shades or groups.
Currently, QMotion is exclusive to iOS devices. However, the company says that an Android version is on its way.
QMotion is currently selling the Qsync device for $588. The app is also available now, as a free download from the iTunes App Store.
