Q. I have outdoor Boston Acoustic speakers and the covers have rusted. Do you happen to know where I can buy replacement covers? - May

A. It really depends on whether the speaker grills are actually removable. Although most internal speakers have removable grills, external ones often do not. If they are removable then your best bet is to email Boston Acoustic to see if they have grills available as spare parts. It is quite likely that they do. If you can’t buy them direct, your local dealer could probably help you. As a last resort, you could try to sand down the grills (with the speaker suspended upside down so the dust doesn’t get into the cone). You could then very carefully paint the grills with metal paint. Make sure to use a brush with very little paint on it. It will take many coats to cover the grill - but you don’t want to clog up the holes!
