If you’re psycho about music and/or gaming, Psyko may have the perfect headphones to keep you (and everyone around you) happy.

The company just announced its Psyko 5.1 Directional Audio Headphones, which wrap an entire 5.1 surround sound system around your noggin.

No more worrying about where to position speakers and setting up equipment. The headphone bridge has five audio drivers, with a subwoofer in each ear cup.

“Essentially, all other headphone designs deliver left sounds into your left ear and right sounds into your right ear,” says James Hildebrandt, Psyko’s CEO.  “We offer a fundamental break from this limiting paradigm. We accurately position each speaker in the headphone bridge and then, using our patent pending Psyko Waveguide Technology, we deliver every sound to both ears, with the correct timing, volume variations, and front and back flow directions found in a natural 3D sound field.”

Psyko’s 5.1 headphones will be available early this year. Expect them to set you back about $300.
