PSB Speakers has a nice little post-Christmas gift that could make New Year’s Eve slightly more rockin’. The company has started shipping its SubSeries 125 Subwoofer.
The company’s latest subwoofer is also one of its most affordable, with an MSRP of just $449.
Designed for both home theater and high-performance audio, the SubSeries 125 has a 125-watt amplifier and an 8-inch woofer with a polypropylene cone. It also promises lower, louder and more musically natural bass.
Featuring a slotted port design, the sub boasts high output with very low port noise and bass extension that’s only 3dB down at 35Hz, with useful low frequency output down to 31Hz.
“The goal for any subwoofer is to produce clean, deep bass throughout the room and with as little room interaction as possible,” said Paul Barton, PSB’s founder and chief designer. “The engineering challenge is to achieve this in a small footprint enclosure at an affordable price. PSB has perfected the tools required to get the optimal result for every loudspeaker application and I believe this new compact SubSeries 125 sets a new standard in affordable subwoofers.”
PSB is shipping the SubSeries 125 now, but also plans to show the subwoofer at next month’s 2013 International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada.
