Procella Audio is getting into the amp business. The company just announced the DA-2800, Procella’s very first power amplifier.
The company will offer two different versions of the 4-channel amp. Both are pretty much the same, with the DA-2800DSP adding onboard DSP for each channel. According to the company, this helps create active crossovers and can optimize frequency response of Procella loudspeakers and subwoofers.
The DA-2800 promises a total of 2,800 watts into 4-ohm loads (700W per channel). Channel pairs can also be bridged for 1,400 watts at 8 ohms.
“We have spent over two years testing every D-class amplifier module on the market. We have developed our own DSP software and programming,” says Gerben Van Duyl, founding partner of Procella Audio. “Today, we are very proud to present you the result of this search for the best amplifier possible for our loudspeakers, the DA-2800.”
Procella is shipping the DA-2800 and DA-2800DSP now. The company has priced these amps at $4,699 and $5,999, respectively.
