Last fall, we got a sneak peek at two upcoming audio distribution systems from Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI). Now, the AD-4x and AD-8x have just started shipping.
Both products first debuted at last September’s CEDIA Show. Designed to be cost-effective audio solutions, the 4×4 and 8×8 can provide switching, amplification, and distribution functions for whole-house audio. Each one has a matrix switching pre-amp and a built-in 25 watt-per-channel Cool Power amplifier.
Also worth mentioning is that both the AD-4x and the AD-8x have built-in Ethernet for two-way control and feedback over the LAN, as well as web-based options via any Ethernet-enabled device.
RTI designed both of these options for big and small setups. If you’re thinking of going big, up to eight AD-4x and AD-8x units can be stacked for a maximum of 64 output zones. Other features include pre-outs for connecting amps (such as RTI’s four-channel CP-450 and 16-channel CP-1650), a web interface for access multiple zones, and a design that complements rack-mount or free-standing installations.
“The AD-4x and AD-8x offer the perfect complement to RTI control systems, providing users with intuitive two-way control over audio and every other aspect of their home or facility,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “With these powerful new features, delivering this experience has never been easier for dealers — the web interfaces save time during installation, while the ability to group output zones makes it very convenient for end users to control larger areas or multiple rooms.”
Users can access audio and control of remote sources using the RSP1 accessory wall plate and a single Cat-5 cable. RTI is shipping the AD-4x and AD-8x now with MSRPs of $899 and $1,799, respectively.
