There are a lot of Bluetooth speakers out there. How do you choose? Well, you may want to go with the one that has great sound, but will also withstand a day by the pool or beach. Yamaha is adding that extra perk into its newly announced NX-P100 Bluetooth speaker.

The NX-P100 is a portable Bluetooth speaker that can deliver music almost anywhere—even near water. However, it doesn’t just go to the pool and stay back by the chairs. This thing can rock out up close, thanks to a splash-proof design.

Also, because it has Bluetooth, it can play music from your smartphone, tablet or other devices. It even has near field communication (NFC), so you can pair up compatible devices with a light tap.

Other perks include aptX and AAC technology, a USB DAC, and speakerphone features.

“The NX-P100 is solid and splashproof, so you can take it almost anywhere, yet it also has a modern design that looks great in your home,” said Bob Goedken, general manager of Yamaha’s AV division. “With the built-in speakerphone and mobile device charger, it’s far more than just a portable speaker; it’s an invaluable multipurpose travel companion.”

Yamaha promises up to eight hours of NX-P100 playtime on a single charge. Expect the speaker to ship sometime this month, with an MSRP of $199.95.
