Xbox Netflix Users Can Stream Some Sony Titles

Ralph Macchio may not look happy, but Xbox users should be. “Karate Kid” and other Columbia titles are now available through the console’s Netflix feature.

Gamers using the console for Netflix access now have a few extra selections.

Last week, Xbox 360 users were wondering where all the Sony titles were hiding, when it came to streaming from their Netflix accounts. Now, magically, most of those titles have come back.

According to GameCyte, most of those titles have returned to the Xbox 360’s “Watch Now” list. More specifically, Columbia (which is owned by Sony) has made its triumphant return.

However, there are still some Sony-owned flicks missing. What gives? We’re not entirely sure if Sony decided to “license” some of its content, and keep some to itself or what. Supposedly, the ones still having problems include the “available through Starz Play” logo.

Last week, web reports were flying about the missing movies. All sides didn’t want to comment too much about the situation. However, Steve Swasey, Netflix’s VP of corporate communications, was quoted as saying, “Those titles are still available to be watched on subscribers’ computers and on TVs via other partner devices, and we hope they’ll be licensed for Xbox 360 shortly.”
