Vitus Audio to Show Combo DAC/Preamp at 2013 CES
The RD-100 features true analog inputs and a volume control.
This week, the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show will be buzzing will all sorts of new audio equipment. Vitus Audio is hoping to stand out by hanging at the Venetian with its new RD-100.
The hook on the RD-100 is that it’s a combo digital analog converter (DAC) and preamplifier under one chassis. It has all of the typical digital inputs you’d find on a DAC, as well as two analog inputs and a new version of Vitus’ own relay-based volume control.
If you’re opting for analog, the RD-100 will shut down all of its digital circuitry, allowing for the purest sound and lowest possible noise levels.
The RD-100 also has a ton of connection options, including inputs for USB, Toslink optical, RCA SPDIF (two), AES SPDIF (two), RCA analog (two) and XLR analog (two).
Vitus Audio plans to start shipping the RD-100 sometime in the first quarter of 2013.
